Presto Patterns/Bible Verse Thursday

I just thought this was the best card ever once I finished with it.  What inspired it was three different challenges.  The Case Artist Wednesday and the Bible Verse Thursday from Christian Paper Crafts and the color challenge from stampin connection.  I kind of used the basic look of the card I cased, but all else was different.  The colors I was suppose to use was Melon Mambo, Pretty in Pink and Basic Black and as you see, I used them all.  The presto pattern paper which is in the Summer Mini is wonderful when you use any type of sponging or your brayer.  It just resist the color over the embossed part which just actually brings it out and defines the design that is on the paper.  With this card I did sponge on my ink colors.  I even used the same paper for the flowers.  You can see some of the design especially on the tips where the darker ink is sponged.  The verse is computer generated since I did not have this verse on a stamp.  The card base is Pretty in Pink, followed by basic black and then the presto paper followed by Melon Mambo, basic black and whisper white.  Thanks for looking and have a great afternoon!

Best Wishes

This was a card I did for the featured stamper on our stampin' connection site the first week of June and did not get around to posting it.  So here it is.  Another simple card which I love and so easy to make.

1) I cut a piece of whisper white card stock to 4 X 5 1/4 and embossed it using the Manhattan Embossing folder.
2)I then adhered it to a piece of soft suede cut for card base.
3) I then cut a piece of soft suede 1 x 4 and adhered over the whisper white embossed card stock.
4)  I then spritzed all of this with the log cabin smooch spritz.
5) Then stamped the Best Wishes image from the Oval All stamp set onto whisper white, cut it out with the large oval.
6)  Then using the scallop oval punch, I punched out a piece of soft suede and attached the Best Wishes.  Adhered this to the 1" strip of soft suede with stampin' dimensionals, attached three pearls from the flower kit.

That was it and the card is finished.  It is just a very soft and simple card.  Thanks for looking and enjoy your day.

Surf's Up!

I did this card for the featured stamper challenge at stampin' connection! The featured stamper was Dana Newsom and she had a wonderful gallery.  It is a little different than her, but I took the surf board from hers.  With mine I actually did like a landscape scene.  For the sand, I used the new crumb cake ink and sponged it onto the card.  For the water and the sky, I used the watercolor crayons and then used the aqua painter to blend in the colors.  I also stamped the waves in the water.  I then stamped the surfboard image and cut it out and used stampin' dimensionals to adhere them to the card.  It was a lot of fun to do and I was happy with the outcome.  Thanks for looking!

Mother's Day Scrapbook Page

This is a scrapbook page I did for a workshop and finally put the pictures in and thought I would share the final version completed.  For original post see here!  Thanks for looking!

Happy Birthday

Well a good Sunday Morning to all of you.  I got up bright and early this morning and decided to do the stamping 411 sketch challenge that was posted yesterday.  I am making my daughter a scrapbook for her shower on July 10th for our grandson who is on the way.  So yesterday was tied up all day doing that and when I got up this morning, I just wanted to do a card and here it is.  I used one of the new colors that will be coming out on Thursday, July 1st, which is called Daffodil Delight and topped it off with Regal Rose.  I think the combination is really nice and especially for a birthday.

I was actually going to use the new single stamp, Homemade, which will also be available on July 1st, when I realized it was more for baking than for a birthday, unless you are willing to make a cupcake to go with the card. lol  So I still used the scallop part of it  and then used the cupcake in the set called Party Hearty.  I embossed the regal rose cardstock with the cuddlebug folder called happy birthday.  Adhered the ribbon to the regal rose and then adhered that to the card base.  I punched out the scallop part of the first stamp with the new 2-3/8" scallop circle, also available July 1st from stampin' up!  Wow, so many nice things coming our way soon.  On with the directions.  I then punched out a 1-3/4" circle to adhere to the scallop.  I then stamped the image of the cupcake by using markers to color on the stamp, regal rose and daffodil delight, put glue on the top part of the cupcake using my 2-way glue stick, sprinkled dazzling diamonds glitter onto the glue and then when done, attached that to the regal rose circle with a stampin' dimensional.  Made and attached the bow and the card is done.  Might have took 20 minutes at the most.  Thanks for looking and have a wonderful Sunday!

I was just trying out the new colors and a new stamp set I got and this is what I came up with.  I used a sketch from Christian paper crafts to get the layout and then started adding the new paper.  I made the background paper by using the new Fast and Fabulous stamp set which will be a hostess set from the new catalog.  I am really excited about some of the things I have seen in the new catalog and can hardly wait to show everyone.  The paper I used is the Cherry Cobbler and the Cajun Craze.  Thanks for  looking!

This set has grown to be one of my favorite for the summer.  It just makes me want to go out and get like a three scoop ice cream! LOL

This card was inspired by the sketch challenge and color challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts.  They really do have some awesome sketch's and I just love looking each Tuesday to see what Gloria has come up with.

This paper will be retiring on June 30th and it is a great paper for this stamp set.  Just seems to bring out all the colors of a good ice cream.

Thanks for looking!

Scripture Challenge Word #13 "Father"

This is for the Scripture Challenge over at Triple the Scraps.  I just love Patters devotions that she puts with each word she adds every two weeks.  I still have a couple of weeks to catch up on, but I am trying to stay current if at all possible.  Word # 13 was Father and I chose 2 Corinthians 6:18 and Ephesians 1:3.  Isn't it wonderful to know that we are sons and daughters of our heavenly Father and that He loves us so much that He has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in Christ.  I just love that and knowing that I am loved beyond measure.  When I decided to do this page I was thinking about the journey that lays ahead for me and how that journey will lead me to my heavenly home.  I just love the fact that my Father is in heaven preparing me a home and one day I will reside with him forever and ever.  It really gives me something to look forward to.  I am a child of the KING!  Praise God!
This was done using My Digital Studio by Stampin' Up!

Happy Father's Day!

How cute is this?  I had seen quite a few out there, but was unsure of how they did it, but when I saw this video, I realized just how simple it was.  My husband thought it was the best today when he saw it.  I actually used some retired stampin up dsp from last year that had baja breeze in it, so the base of the card is baja breeze.  This old DSP was called Parisian Breeze Specialty.  The saying I got from My Digital Studio set called For all You do.  On the inside I stamped Happy Father's day with the teeny tiny wishes stamp set.  The buttons were actually some buttons I had that came from a shirt that we threw away.  How is that for recycling?  Hope everyone had a great Father's Day!  Thanks for looking.

Workshop/Card/Layout

We had a really good time at the workshop tonight except that the black ink spots were dried up.  First time that has happened, but anyway other than that everything went well.

This is the card we made using the motorcycle single stamp and for the sentiment Teeny Tiny Wishes.  We did a background using the water color crayons and then used the aqua painter to blend everything in.  We then stamped the motorcycle image on the paper and colored it in and attached all the pieces together.  Actually the basic gray piece of cardstock was embossed using the square lattice embossing folder.  Colors of cardstock were brilliant blue, ballet blue, basic gray and whisper white.  Colored the motorcycle in by using the ballet blue marker.  Such an easy card to do.

Our next project was a scrapbook page layout.

This page was really easy.  I actually made the banner part "A Sweet Summer" by using "My Digital Studio."  Actually put 7 on on 8-1/2" X 11" piece of paper and then printed it.  I used the caramel polka dot DSP for the background on the banner.  I wanted to use the "Sweet Scoops" stamp set and this was a great way to do it.  Instead of using square or 6 X 4 pieces of paper for the pictures, I decided to use the Scallop Edge Bigz die.  I really did like the way it turned out.  The colors used on this layout are Green Galore, Rich Razzleberry, Regal Rose, Creamy Caramel and Whisper White.  Went together very well.

Sneak Peak/Studio Sketches

I decided to share a sneak peak from the new catalog with you today.  I have did a few cards, but this one is actually a case from the catalog.  I did not use the same colors as in the catalog, but I cased the rest.  I know I am going to love this stamp set and this is only one image of 4.  A wonderful new stamp set coming your way as of July 1st.  The color of the paper is Wild Wasabi which was an in color a few years back, but has come back as one of our new colors.  I am going to love this paper.  Also the smaller ribbon is from a few years back and the color is River Rock which is also one of the new colors for this year.  The ink used for the image is crumb cake and the pears are colored by a marker - color river rock.  Thanks for looking!

Because I Care

This is my actual first card using one of the new stamps that will be available in the new catalog coming July 1st.  I am so excited with the way it turned out.  I actually used two challenges to make this card.  One was the stamping 411 sketch for this week and the other was the color challenge on stampin' connection this week which was to use the colors tempting turquoise, old olive and pumpkin pie.  I was uncertain of the colors until I put them together and then I loved them.

The new stamp set that I used on this one is called "Fast and Fabulous" which will be a hostess stamp set in level two.  As you can see I also used the extra large bird punch which is a wonderful standby for me.  It always seems to come in handy.

Thanks for looking!

Forest Friends Scene

I just love doing these scenes using the water color crayons and a aqua painter.  They are really the easiest and so cute.  The only thing I would have changed after I finished this one is to add a reflection in the lake.  Maybe I will try it again and do that.  But it does look a little cloudy so maybe there was no a reflection that day. LOL

I actually watched this video  on how to make an outdoor scene by Glenda after I saw one of her cards on stampin' connection.  So easy and wonderful.  I am actually going to do this at my workshop this Thursday evening.  Not this card, but another with the same basic idea.  Thanks for looking.

Cardstock:  Early Espresso, Marina Bay, Whisper White
Stamp Set: Forest Friends, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Water color crayons
Aqua Painter
Clear Glass embossing Powder

MDS/Scripture Challenge

I am loving My Digital Studio.  You can do so much with it and it looks really good when you are done.  This is for Patter's Scripture Challenge 2, Word # 11.  You will have to read her devotion on "purpose".  It is really good.  The scripture I chose for Purpose was Romans 8:28.  "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose."

This scripture says so much to me.  One thing that really talks to me is the fact that if we are doing what we do for the Lord, we are working according to "His Plan", notice it does not say our plan, that "all things work together for good."  Our purpose in life is to honor our Lord and Savior and to bring glory to Him in everything we do.  It is not about us, it is about the one who gave His life for us.  That one thing should make us want to do His will, want to follow Him.  The greatest thing I can ever do is to follow the example of Christ and then leave an example for my children and my grandchildren.  All of this can be done if I walk "according to His purpose."  Thanks for stopping by today.

Upsy Daisy/Thank you

I was cleaning my craft room when I had to check out the sketch for Christian paper Crafts and all of a sudden the cleaning stopped and the card making started.  I also combined CPC color challenge from Monday with their sketch for today.  The colors were pink, lavender and yellow.  There is one thing about this stamp set, "Upsy Daisy", you can never go wrong using it and it is great to color with markers which is what I did to get the colors.  I also sponged a so saffron background to kind of give it a little moonlight.  The colors I used were: lavender lace, pretty in pink, barely banana and whisper white.  I also used the perfect dots embossing folder as a background and the beautiful wings embosslits die and then after it was put together, I spritzed it with the vanilla smooch spritz.  I am loving that stuff.  Thanks for looking!

With Heartfelt Sympathy

This was a card that just came together after pulling this paper out, cottage Wall by SU which will be retiring this month.  Also retiring is the card base which is orchid opulence.  I had thought about using a flower at the top, but when I pulled out the stuff for the flower I realized I already had this bird punched out.  So, I thought, "Why not use the bird?"  And when it was complete, I was glad I did.  There is nothing like this two-step bird punch.  It just makes a card look so elegant.  Actually I believe I will use this in the Clean and Simple challenge on Christian Paper Crafts which was their fun on Friday Challenge.  It was really simple and easy and the only stamp I used is also retiring this month and I will truly miss this stamp set, Close as a Memory.  I love the verses and the flower that go with it.

So with two layers and a bird punch it is complete!  Thanks for looking.

Thinking of You/Friend to Friend

When I went to Christian Paper Crafts this morning to check out the Tuesday Sketch, as soon as I saw it, I knew I was going to use this paper.  It it is so easy and two sided so the bottom corner turned up was no problem what so ever.  Actually I love the hounds tooth look of the other side.  And when I finished with this one, I then decided to do another one with the same pack of DSP, just another sheet with flowers.  For this card I used:

Stamp Set: Teeny Tiny Wishes
Cardstock: Kraft, Baja Breeze
DSP: Sweet Pea Paper stack
Punch: Scallop Trim Border
Brads & flower

This is the second card I did and as I said this DSP comes out of the same pack as the other.  With this I added some of the Sweet Pea Felts which were in previous mini along with this DSP.  It was really a great pack of paper and wonderful felt flowers.  Items used on this card are:
Stamp Set: Teeny Tiny Wishes
Cardstock: Tangerine Tango, Old Olive
DSP: Sweet Pea Paper Stack
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Sweet Pea Felt flowers
Button
Scallop edge trim border punch
